Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, July 2025 – Vikas Sood has joined Artson Limited, A Tata Enterprise, as Chief Operating Officer, where he will lead the company’s operational strategy, manufacturing excellence, and project delivery across its diverse industrial EPC business. In his new role, he will be instrumental in strengthening Artson’s footprint in oil & gas, power, petrochemicals, and the shipbuilding sector.
Vikas brings over two decades of experience, most recently serving as Chief Technical Officer at Mahindra Defence Systems Limited (Naval Division), where he led engineering leadership, greenfield projects, operational performance, and defense collaborations for naval systems. His contributions drove cost optimization, plant efficiency, and stakeholder engagement in highly complex and regulated environments.
Before this, Vikas was Head – Design, Planning & Production at Mahindra Defence, where he managed multiple critical programs in aerospace and defense manufacturing. His work in plant operations, lean transformation, and technical integration positioned him as a leader in operational excellence.
Vikas earlier served for over 22 years in the Indian Navy, where he held several senior leadership roles including Chief Engineer and Program Manager – Trials & Acceptance Authority. During his tenure, he managed ship repair MRO programs, spearheaded gas turbine operations, and represented India in international shipyard engagements such as Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. His naval service was marked by strategic program execution, defense procurement, and systems engineering.
His extensive expertise in engineering leadership, government relations, technical program management, and global plant operations makes him a valuable addition to Artson’s leadership team as the company continues its transformation journey under the Tata Group banner.
