Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, October 2025 – Vumatel, South Africa’s pioneering Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) broadband infrastructure company, has announced the appointment of Wayne Levitas as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this key leadership role, Wayne will oversee Vumatel’s financial strategy, governance, and operational performance as the company continues to expand its digital infrastructure footprint and enable affordable, high-speed connectivity across South Africa.
With over two decades of leadership experience in finance, strategy, and commercial operations, Wayne Levitas brings a dynamic blend of corporate finance expertise and entrepreneurial insight to his new role at Vumatel.
Before joining Vumatel, Wayne served as Chief Commercial Officer at Tudortech, where he led business transformation, commercial strategy, and financial performance initiatives, strengthening the company’s market competitiveness. Prior to that, he held the position of Chief Financial Officer at AKELO Group, driving strategic financial management and operational efficiency across the group’s portfolio of businesses.
Wayne also served as Chief Financial Officer at Cell Network SA, where he was responsible for leading corporate finance, compliance, and restructuring during a crucial growth phase. Earlier, at FrontierCo, he held dual leadership roles—first as Finance Executive and later as Chief Financial Officer—where he played a pivotal role in aligning financial strategy with expansion goals, investor relations, and multi-entity governance.
Earlier in his career, Wayne spent several years with CAVI Brands, where he progressed from Commercial Executive to CEO of INCO Beverages, overseeing both operational and strategic business growth. His leadership at EY as Head of Enterprise Performance Management in the Management Consulting division further deepened his capabilities in corporate performance optimization, digital transformation, and business process improvement.
Wayne’s early career included finance and consulting roles at Raizcorp, Prostart Investments, and Transaction Capital, as well as audit and managerial positions at Deloitte South Africa and EY, where he began his career as an articled clerk. This extensive experience across industries—ranging from telecommunications and finance to consumer goods and consulting—has equipped him with a holistic perspective on business performance and value creation.
