Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2024 – Yusuf Cementwala has been appointed as Vice President – Head of Human Resources, India at Maybank, bringing with him a wealth of expertise in human resources, talent management, and strategic leadership. In his new role, Yusuf will lead HR operations and strategy for Maybank’s India division, focusing on strengthening talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organizational growth.
Yusuf Cementwala most recently served as the Human Resource Business Partner, India at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), where he played a critical role in enhancing HR strategies and employee engagement over a seven-year tenure. During his time at FAB, he demonstrated exceptional leadership in areas such as executive search, HR policy formulation, and employee relations.
Before joining FAB, Yusuf held the position of Business Manager – Human Resource & Administration at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, where he contributed to operational excellence and strategic HR initiatives for nearly three years.
Earlier in his career, he worked as Manager: HR & Corporate Affairs at Olympus IMS, managing HR policies and compensation strategies for over three years. Yusuf also honed his expertise during his time as an Associate Manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, where he focused on HR operations and talent management.
Yusuf’s career journey began in banking, with roles at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and ICICI Bank, where he developed a strong foundation in private banking and business development.
