In her new role, Becky will spearhead people strategies that align with Virgin Atlantic’s mission to provide exceptional customer experiences while fostering an inclusive and innovative workplace.
Becky Woodmansee joins Virgin Atlantic following a distinguished eight-year tenure at Whitbread, where she served as the People Director for Premier Inn & Restaurants. In this role, she oversaw the HR functions for brands generating over £2.8 billion in revenue with 37,000 employees. Becky was a key driver in enhancing employee experiences to deliver superior guest satisfaction and contributed to strategic initiatives that addressed workforce challenges for low-income employees.
Before this, Becky led HR transformation efforts as HR Director – Leading HR Transformation & Shared Services at Whitbread. She played a pivotal role in the sale of Costa Coffee to Coca-Cola, managing pre-sale due diligence, transitional services, and the implementation of TUPE activities. Her leadership ensured the successful integration of Workday for over 50,000 employees, streamlining HR processes and enhancing productivity.
Earlier in her career, Becky held senior HR roles at Home Retail Group PLC, where she managed HR operations for brands like Homebase. She developed and executed culture change programs and workforce strategies that contributed to organizational growth and employee engagement. Her professional journey also includes impactful roles at Santander UK, GE Healthcare, and Unilever, where she honed her skills in HR leadership and transformation.
