Cleveland, Ohio, December 2024 – Douglas Dykes has been named the Chief Human Resources Officer at Cleveland State University. In his new role, Douglas will lead HR operations, providing strategic direction to enhance the university’s workforce and align HR initiatives with its mission as a leading public, urban research institution.

Douglas has served Cleveland State University since 2020, starting as Associate Vice President, Human Resources, where he reimagined HR practices, developed strategic policies, and advised senior leadership on key HR functions including talent management, employee engagement, and leadership development.

Before joining CSU, Douglas held the role of Vice President of Human Resources & Chief Diversity Officer at Neighborhood Family Practice, where he successfully enhanced HRIS systems and championed diversity initiatives.

At Cuyahoga County, Douglas served as Chief Talent Officer, overseeing comprehensive HR functions such as talent acquisition, training, and compliance while ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local regulations.

Douglas’s extensive HR leadership includes a tenure as Director of Human Resources at the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, where he led strategic HR operations and served as the compliance officer, fostering a culture of regulatory adherence and employee excellence.

Earlier in his career, Douglas gained invaluable experience at organizations such as The Holden Arboretum and Greater Cleveland RTA, where he developed and implemented transformative HR strategies.
