San Francisco Bay Area, December 2024 – Shashi Upadhyay has been appointed as the President of Product, Engineering, and AI at Zendesk, where he will lead efforts to advance the company’s growth in customer and employee service sectors. With an extensive background in artificial intelligence, product strategy, and innovation, Upadhyay is set to play a pivotal role in shaping Zendesk’s vision for AI-driven solutions in the customer experience space.
Upadhyay brings a wealth of experience to Zendesk from his prior role at Google, where he served as GM/VP overseeing the advertiser product portfolio, including Google Ads, Google Analytics, and Performance Max. During his tenure, he spearheaded innovations that propelled the platform’s impact on customer engagement and automation, emphasizing an AI-forward and outcome-driven approach.
Before joining Google, Shashi was the Executive Vice President of Products at Dun & Bradstreet, where he was instrumental in the company’s successful IPO in 2020. He led the product, marketing, and technology functions, focusing on AI-driven innovations across B2B advertising, marketing automation, and CRM systems. His leadership significantly contributed to the faster-growing half of the company’s global business.
Shashi’s entrepreneurial achievements are highlighted by his role as Founder and CEO of Lattice Engines, a pioneer in AI applications for marketing and sales. Under his leadership, Lattice Engines became a market leader in B2B analytics and was acquired by Dun & Bradstreet in a landmark transaction. The company earned recognition as a leader in multiple industry evaluations, including the B2B Analytics Wave and the Customer Data Platform Wave.
Earlier in his career, Shashi honed his skills at McKinsey & Company, where he served as Partner and Engagement Manager. He worked extensively with Fortune 500 clients, focusing on go-to-market strategies and product innovation in the technology and telecom sectors.
