Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, March 2025 – Akash Jain has been appointed as the Director of Marketing, Head of Media at Flipkart, where he will oversee digital and ATL media strategies for Flipkart’s core business and emerging verticals, including Flipkart Minutes. Having been an integral part of Flipkart for nearly eight years, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s media strategies, driving impact across key categories such as mobiles, electronics, appliances, fashion, and beauty, along with emerging segments like health, fintech, and grocery.
Jain’s journey at Flipkart began in 2017, where he advanced through several leadership roles in marketing and media. Most recently, he served as Head of Media – Associate Director, spearheading cross-category media planning and consulting with leading brands to optimize their media strategies on Flipkart’s platform. Before this, he led GMV-driving media initiatives as Senior Manager II, developing media playbooks, go-to-market strategies, and key partnerships with platforms like Meta and Google. His tenure also included leading WhatsApp and TikTok-based marketing innovations, recognized for their award-winning impact during Flipkart’s sale events.
Before joining Flipkart, Jain gained experience in digital marketing and brand engagement at Odigma, an Infibeam company, where he spent nearly three years as a Senior Manager – Social Media. During this time, he specialized in social media strategy, campaign execution, and content marketing, working with major brands to enhance their digital presence. Additionally, he is the founder of ContestJunction, a platform focused on coupons and giveaways, showcasing his entrepreneurial mindset in digital commerce.
With this new role, Jain will continue to drive Flipkart’s marketing evolution, enhancing brand communication, customer engagement, and strategic media planning. His expertise in digital commerce, media innovation, and brand storytelling is expected to further strengthen Flipkart’s position as India’s leading e-commerce platform, ensuring impactful marketing initiatives that drive customer growth and business success.
