Bangalore, Karnataka, India, March 2025 – N. G. Subramaniam has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Tata Communications, where he will provide strategic leadership to drive the company’s long-term vision, digital innovation, and market expansion. As a Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director, he will guide the board in shaping key business strategies, reinforcing Tata Communications’ position as a global leader in enterprise connectivity and digital transformation. His appointment follows the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, underscoring the company’s focus on experienced leadership to navigate evolving industry challenges.
Subramaniam brings extensive experience from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where he served as Chief Operating Officer & Executive Director for eight years. During this tenure, he led global business operations, emerging business initiatives, and enterprise technology solutions, playing a key role in strengthening TCS’s leadership in digital transformation and financial technology solutions. Before this, he was Executive Vice President at TCS for five years, overseeing TCS BaNCS, an industry-leading financial services platform, and driving global growth initiatives in banking, capital markets, and insurance.
In addition to his leadership at TCS, Subramaniam has been serving as a Board Member at Tata Elxsi for the past 10 years, contributing to the company’s strategic direction, digital innovation, and technological advancements in design and engineering services. His deep understanding of enterprise technology, cloud solutions, and telecom strategy positions him well to lead Tata Communications as it expands its digital ecosystem and strengthens its market presence globally.
