McLean, Virginia, United States, August 2026 — Orbis has appointed Julia Potts as Vice President, Human Resources. Potts brings more than 12 years of progressive human resources experience, spanning people operations, HR leadership, talent and organizational support across technology, education, professional services, manufacturing advocacy, and international development organizations.
Potts joins Orbis from StraighterLine, where she served as Director of People Operations from October 2024 to August 2026. In this role, she held a senior people leadership position supporting the organization’s workforce and people operations. She has also served as Director, Human Resources at CornerBrooke, LLC since 2019.
Previously, Potts was Head of Human Resources at C5MI, following nearly four years with Nexus. At Nexus, she progressed from Human Resources Manager to Senior Manager, Human Resources, continuing in a senior HR capacity through the period in which the company was acquired by Bottomline Technologies in September 2022.
Earlier in her career, Potts spent nearly three years with the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), advancing from Human Resources Generalist to Human Resources Manager. She previously worked with Crown Agents, where she progressed from Human Resources Coordinator to Human Resources Specialist.
Potts began building her HR career with the International Executive Service Corps (IESC), initially joining as a Human Resources Intern before becoming Payroll/Human Resources Associate. Her progression from HR intern and coordinator positions to senior people leadership roles has given her experience across multiple organizational environments. As Vice President, Human Resources at Orbis, she will bring this background to the company as it continues building the organizational capabilities and talent needed to support its work across complex global security challenges.
