Waltham, Massachusetts, United States, March 2025 – Apellis Pharmaceuticals has announced the appointment of Kelly Bollenbach as Associate Director, Talent Acquisition, strengthening its people strategy during a pivotal phase of growth in life sciences innovation. In her new role, Bollenbach will lead a team of seasoned recruiters and partner closely with business leaders to implement strategic, scalable talent acquisition programs that support Apellis’ expanding pipeline of therapies.
Bollenbach brings nearly a decade of experience at Johnson & Johnson, where she held several leadership roles in talent acquisition. Most recently, she served as Manager, Talent Acquisition, overseeing full-cycle hiring strategies for J&J’s MedTech sector. Prior to this, as HR Lead, Talent Acquisition, she led end-to-end recruitment initiatives across North America, focusing on DE&I integration, strategic workforce planning, and business alignment. She has also held roles as Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist and Senior Sourcing Specialist, supporting Research & Development.

Before her time at J&J, she worked at Greene Tweed and Merck, where she built deep capabilities in executive search, compliance, recruitment operations, and talent pipeline development. Her early career also includes experience in university recruiting and process optimization at IBM (Kenexa) and ACS, along with administrative roles at Pennoni Associates.
