Berlin, Germany, April 2026 — Desiree Castell has been elevated to the role of Chief People Officer and Executive Board Member at Viessmann Generations Group, marking a significant milestone in her leadership journey within the organization. In this expanded role, she will lead the global people strategy while contributing at the board level to drive organizational transformation, culture, and long-term value creation.
Prior to this elevation, Desiree Castell served as Group VP People, Culture & Organization at Viessmann Generations Group, where she played a key role in shaping a purpose-driven, entrepreneurial, and value-led culture. Her leadership has been instrumental in aligning people strategy with the organization’s mission of creating living spaces for future generations while actively contributing to the global energy transition.
Earlier, she held the role of VP People Products at Viessmann, where she contributed to building scalable people systems and strengthening employee experience across the organization. Her journey within Viessmann reflects a strong progression in driving culture, organizational design, and people innovation at scale.
Before joining Viessmann, Desiree Castell served as VP People & Culture at Zeitgold (acquired by Deel), where she enabled rapid organizational growth from a small team to nearly 200 employees while co-creating a high-performing culture. The company was recognized as the #1 workplace for employee satisfaction in 2020 by Kununu and Glassdoor during her tenure.
She also brings strong consulting experience from McKinsey & Company, where she worked as an Engagement Manager, leading strategy, digital transformation, and organizational change initiatives for both family-owned and publicly listed companies. In addition, she continues to contribute as an Advisor – New Work at mute-labs, reflecting her passion for shaping the future of work and workplace innovation.
Desiree Castell holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, further strengthening her strategic and leadership capabilities.
