Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, April, 2025 — Bishwajeet Samal has been appointed as the Head of Marketing & PR at Volkswagen India, marking a significant milestone in his over two-decade-long career in brand management and marketing. In his new role, Samal will lead Volkswagen India’s marketing and communication initiatives, focusing on strengthening the brand’s consumer engagement and presence in a competitive automotive market.
Before this appointment, Bishwajeet served in several global leadership roles at Volkswagen, most recently as Global Lead – Campaigns & Media Management, where he developed and executed integrated global campaigns for key vehicle lines such as the ID.7, New Tiguan, and Tayron. His contributions played a pivotal role in shaping brand equity and marketing effectiveness across international markets.
Earlier in his journey with Volkswagen, he held positions including Head of Global Marketing Campaigns, Lead – Global Media Management & Campaign Roadmap, and Regional Media & Marketing Communications Manager – Europe, contributing to media strategy, digital innovation, and ROI optimization. His first stint as Head of Marketing at Volkswagen India between 2018 and 2020 gave him valuable insight into the Indian market.
Prior to joining Volkswagen, Samal worked with industry leaders such as Tata Teleservices, FCB Interface, and Star India, where he honed his skills in campaign development, account management, and strategic marketing. With this diverse experience, he is well-positioned to steer Volkswagen India’s marketing efforts into a new era of brand storytelling and customer-centric communication.
