Ashish Saraf appointed as Vice President and Country Head, India at Pratt & Whitney

New Delhi, Delhi, India, April 2025 — Ashish Saraf has been appointed as Vice President and Country Head, India at Pratt & Whitney, where he will spearhead strategic growth initiatives spanning engineering, supply chain, customer service, and digital transformation. With over two decades of leadership across aerospace, space, defence, biometrics, and manufacturing, Saraf’s appointment underscores Pratt & Whitney’s commitment to deepening its footprint in the Indian market, following investments of over $40 million in the region in recent years.

Prior to joining Pratt & Whitney, Ashish Saraf served as CEO and Chairman of the Board for all Thales India businesses, leading cross-sector operations in aerospace, defence, cybersecurity, biometrics, and the Global Capability Center. His leadership has been instrumental in fostering technological innovation and operational excellence in India.

Before Thales, he was President and Head of Region – South Asia at Airbus Helicopters, where he managed civil, defence, and parapublic rotorcraft markets. He also held the role of Vice President – Industry Development, Partnerships and Offsets at Airbus India, where he advanced Airbus’ ‘Make in India’ vision through strategic industrial collaborations.

Earlier in his career, Saraf led the greenfield setup of the TATA SIKORSKY AEROSPACE LIMITED joint venture, overseeing the full-rate production of Sikorsky S-92 fuselage assemblies. He has also served as a Board Member of the Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council and held consulting roles at Deloitte in the US and Europe, where he delivered transformation programs in supply chain, operations, and M&A for leading industrial clients.

His appointment is expected to catalyze Pratt & Whitney’s India growth trajectory and drive alignment across engineering, digital, and customer success functions in the country.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
