Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, May 2025 – Exide Industries Limited has appointed Deven Kumar as Head Plant HR, where he will lead the organization’s human resources, industrial relations (IR), and corporate social responsibility (CSR) functions at the plant level. Based in Navi Mumbai, Deven takes charge of aligning HR practices with operational goals while ensuring statutory compliance and fostering a positive workforce environment.
Deven brings nearly a decade of robust experience in plant HR, industrial relations, and business partnering roles. Before joining Exide Industries, he was with Aarti Industries Ltd. for close to four years, where he served as Senior Manager – Human Resources Business Partner. In this role, he led HR operations for two divisions, focusing on talent development, data-driven people practices, and culture-building initiatives. He also served as Manager HRBP and Deputy Manager HR, where he mentored talent acquisition teams and drove workforce engagement initiatives.
Prior to this, Deven held key responsibilities at ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, where he led industrial relations and legal compliance across multiple business units. His expertise included handling dispute resolution, labor law compliance, risk mitigation, and policy reform. He also contributed to CSR efforts and led the successful implementation of labor management systems.
Earlier in his career, Deven worked at Shreno Limited (formerly Alembic Glass) as Unit Lead IR, HR, and Legal Compliance, where he drove long-term settlements, managed harmonious union relationships, and handled payroll and performance systems. His journey also includes HR roles at Zydex Industries, Addon Technology, and an early career stint as a vocational trainee at Reliance Industries Ltd.
