In her new position, she will lead the bank’s human capital strategies across talent acquisition, performance, organizational culture, and employee engagement, contributing to Jefferson Bank’s mission of building long-term client and employee relationships grounded in trust and service.
Prior to joining Jefferson Bank, Sharon served as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Premier Bank, where she provided HR leadership for a publicly traded $8.7 billion financial organization with over 80 locations across four states. Her tenure included leading M&A-related culture integrations, spearheading strategic workforce planning, and maintaining an impressive employee Net Promoter Score of 60+, while achieving a turnover rate of less than 14%.
Before Premier Bank, Sharon held the role of Executive Vice President and Director of Human Resources at First Federal Bank of the Midwest, where she played a pivotal role in corporate strategy, talent retention, succession planning, and overseeing a comprehensive HRIS transformation. She also led diversity and inclusion strategies, reduced employee turnover from 23% to 10%, and significantly improved performance management outcomes.
Earlier in her career, Sharon was Senior Vice President and Human Resources Director at First Community Bank in Alabama, where she reported directly to the CEO and managed all HR operations, including executive recruitment, compensation strategy, benefits negotiation, and internal communications. Her leadership led to a notable 8% reduction in overall turnover and a 30% decrease in employee benefit costs.
Sharon also served in HR leadership roles at BBVA Compass and Cintas, where she gained deep experience in compliance, training, OSHA standards, and HR audit functions. Throughout her career, she has been known for aligning HR with business strategy, building high-performance cultures, and maintaining strong governance and legal compliance.
She holds an MBA from the University of South Alabama and is a certified SPHR and SHRM-SCP professional.
