Raleigh, North Carolina, United States, May 2025 – Kimberly Dempsey Schaufenbuel has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Cherry Bekaert, a top-ranked national accounting and advisory firm. In her new role, she will lead the firm’s HR strategies and people operations to further enhance talent development, employee experience, and organizational effectiveness.
Prior to this appointment, Kimberly served as Chief Talent Officer at Cherry Bekaert for approximately two years. In this role, she was instrumental in shaping talent strategies to support business transformation and growth. Her leadership in elevating talent practices significantly contributed to the firm’s competitive edge in the market.
Previously, she was Head of Global Talent & Capability at Lightspeed Commerce, where she established the global Talent & Capability function to drive strategic priorities across a diverse, international workforce of over 3,500 employees in 17 countries.
Before that, she served as Head of Global Talent & Capability at GenesisCare, supporting more than 6,500 employees across 400+ sites worldwide. Her global approach to HR strategy enabled scalable execution while maintaining local relevance across regions including the US, Australia, Spain, and the UK.
Earlier in her career, she held the position of SVP, Global Talent Management at 2U, where she led functions including learning and development, DEI, workforce planning, and HR analytics. Kimberly also held senior roles at UNC Kenan-Flagler Executive Development, Grifols, and others, bringing with her over 15 years of extensive experience in global HR leadership.
