Cyrus Madan joins Accor as Director of Development, India & South Asia

Gurugram, India, June 2025 — Cyrus Madan has been named Director of Development, India & South Asia at Accor, bringing with him nearly 30 years of leadership experience in hospitality and hotel development. His appointment comes at a strategic moment as Accor strengthens its growth footprint across South Asian markets including India, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka.

Prior to joining Accor, Cyrus served as Senior Vice President – Business Development at Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, where he spearheaded luxury hotel expansion across the Indian subcontinent. Before that, he founded The Hotel Practice, an independent consultancy focused on hotel brand search, feasibility studies, and operational advisory.

He spent over 17 years at Lemon Tree Hotels, holding pivotal roles including Chief Operating Officer of Carnation Hotels, the group’s management arm, and Vice President – Business Development and Feasibility, where he was instrumental in expanding the brand’s footprint through acquisitions and management contracts.

Cyrus began his career with Taj Hotels in New Delhi and also gained early experience with GECIS. Known for his strategic insight, market acumen, and deep industry relationships, he brings a legacy of enabling growth-oriented partnerships and high-impact hospitality solutions.

An alumnus of the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration, Manipal, Cyrus’s appointment signals Accor’s commitment to sustained expansion in the region. Welcoming him to the team, Aniruddh Kumar, Vice-President – Development, emphasized Cyrus’s ability to translate market understanding into tangible development outcomes for the group.
