MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, UNITED STATES, June 2026 — Target Corporation has elevated Kristine McPhee Beard to the role of Vice President, Talent, where she will lead the company’s Talent Management, People Analytics, Employer Brand, and Culture agenda across the organization.
The appointment reflects Target’s continued focus on building a high-performing, purpose-driven workforce and strengthening the capabilities required to support one of America’s largest and most recognized retail organizations. In her new role, Kristine will play a critical part in shaping talent strategies, enhancing organizational culture, leveraging people analytics, and advancing Target’s employer brand as the company continues to evolve in an increasingly dynamic retail environment.
Kristine brings nearly two decades of experience with Target, having built an extensive career across human resources, talent strategy, organizational transformation, supply chain, operations, merchandising, and HR shared services. Most recently, she served as Senior Director, HR Shared Services & Digital HR, where she helped drive the modernization of HR operations and employee experiences through digital transformation initiatives.
Prior to that, she served as Senior Director, Human Resources – Food and Beverage, leading people strategies for one of Target’s critical business segments. Earlier, as Senior Director, Human Resources – Supply Chain and Operations, she partnered with business leaders across Global Supply Chain, Logistics, Target Properties, and Shipt, helping align people strategies with operational and growth priorities.
Throughout her tenure at Target, Kristine has successfully led large-scale organizational transformations, talent and culture initiatives, workforce planning programs, change management efforts, leadership development strategies, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. She has also played a key role in supporting Target’s evolution into a modern omnichannel retailer by helping integrate store and digital operations through strategic talent and organizational design initiatives.
Her earlier leadership assignments included Human Resources Director for Field Supply Chain, Human Resources Director supporting Global Supply Chain and Operations, Senior Human Resources Manager for Merchandising, Human Resources Manager for Supply Chain, and Business Partner roles supporting enterprise HR planning and delivery. Across these positions, she developed deep expertise in talent management, organizational effectiveness, leadership coaching, culture transformation, workforce planning, and change leadership.
With a proven track record of driving business-aligned people strategies and leading transformational HR initiatives, Kristine is well positioned to strengthen Target’s talent ecosystem and help shape the future of work across the organization.
