Fetch Appoints Gowtham Gundu as First-Ever CAIO to Accelerate Company's AI-First Vision

Madison, Wisconsin, United States, June 2025 – Fetch, America’s Rewards App, has announced the appointment of Gowtham Gundu as the company’s first-ever Chief AI Officer (CAIO). Gundu will lead Fetch’s artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) strategy as the company deepens its AI-first approach to transform user experiences and business outcomes.

As CAIO, Gundu will focus on integrating ML technologies into the Fetch platform to drive enhanced advertising personalization, improve product discoverability, and strengthen the company’s core receipt scanning functionality. He will also evaluate the potential of large language models (LLMs) and other emerging ML tools to unlock new platform capabilities.

“Gowtham has built ML systems that support some of the most sophisticated advertising operations in the world,” said Wes Schroll, CEO and Founder of Fetch. “He will help us take full advantage of the opportunity at our fingertips and build what others are only beginning to imagine.”

Gundu joins Fetch after more than 18 years at Google, where he most recently served as Director of Engineering for Ads Content Safety. He led teams responsible for safeguarding a $250 billion advertising ecosystem, deploying ML at scale to protect and optimize the experience for users, publishers, and advertisers. He also pioneered the use of LLMs within Google Ads, earning multiple Ads Impact awards for his innovations.

“Fetch has a bold vision for how AI can redefine not just a product, but an entire category,” said Gundu. “There’s an incredible opportunity to leverage and even advance the state-of-the-art ML to solve some of the toughest challenges in the advertising industry—and turn those breakthroughs into better experiences for users and better business outcomes for brands.”

This appointment underscores Fetch’s commitment to embedding AI deeply within its business. In 2024, the company secured two U.S. patents for its AI- and ML-powered advertising technologies. Further amplifying this commitment, Fetch recently hosted its first-ever AI Week, halting companywide operations to boost AI fluency, encourage platform experimentation, and drive a cultural shift in innovation.

About Fetch
Fetch, America’s Rewards App, empowers consumers to live rewarded and helps brands build lifelong loyalty through the power of Fetch Points. With unmatched visibility into consumer spending patterns, the app captures billions of transactions annually using advanced AI and ML technologies. Fetch users submit over 11 million receipts per day and have collectively earned more than $1 billion in rewards. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, boasting over 6 million five-star reviews.
