Costa Rica, July 2025 – Luis Alfredo Vidal has been appointed as Chief People Officer at Walmart Central America, where he will lead people strategy and organizational transformation for one of the region’s most influential retail networks. In this expanded leadership role, Luis will focus on aligning talent, capability building, and culture to Walmart’s omnichannel growth and digital acceleration across Central America.
Luis brings over three years of impactful experience at Walmart de México y Centroamérica, where he most recently served as Senior Director – Tribe Lead Human Resources for Real Estate and Supply Chain. Prior to that, he was Senior Director – Squad Lead Human Resources for Walmart and Walmart Express, responsible for transforming HR operations for over 58,000 employees, driving large-scale HR change and organizational effectiveness.
Earlier, Luis spent nearly seven years at FORVIA HELLA, where he rose to the role of Vice President Human Resources for North and South America, after previously serving as Human Resources Director for Mexico and Regional HR Manager. He was instrumental in building high-performance teams and leading HR across multiple plants and business lines, including electronics and lighting manufacturing.
Before joining HELLA, Luis held several leadership positions at Faurecia, including HR Manager, Launch HR Manager, and Employee Empowerment Leader at different plant locations across Mexico. His tenure spanned over seven years, where he led critical workforce strategies for major OEM projects including General Motors and Daimler, driving workforce optimization, talent development, and HR systems standardization.
Luis began his career in operational roles at Blockbuster, where he gained early experience in team leadership, customer service, and inventory management. These foundational years helped shape his people-first leadership style and operational discipline.
