Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, September 2025 – The Investment Trust Of India Limited (ITI Ltd.) has announced the appointment of Ashu Tomar as its new President & Chief Business Officer. In this leadership role, Tomar will be responsible for driving strategic business growth, strengthening client relationships, and shaping innovative financial solutions that align with ITI’s mission of fostering entrepreneurial-led development across India.
Tomar joins the executive leadership at ITI after serving as Senior Vice President at JM Financial Ltd. for over three years, where she focused on strategic business initiatives and client engagement in the financial services sector. Her contributions were marked by a deep understanding of market dynamics and a focus on delivering long-term value.
Before JM Financial, Tomar worked with Ambit Capital for over four years as Marketing and Strategy Manager in Asset Management. She was responsible for designing global marketing campaigns, increasing assets under management (AUM), onboarding domestic and international channels, and working closely with CXOs on strategic decisions for the firm’s asset management business.
Earlier in her career, she spent more than five years at Citibank India, where she held roles as Channel Manager and Investment Specialist. In these positions, she managed sales teams, vendor P&L, corporate relationships, and investment strategies. Her tenure at Citi provided her with a robust platform to understand client needs and financial structuring at scale.
Tomar began her career with entrepreneurial and early professional stints, including as Marketing Lead at GRiN, and a Summer Intern at Wipro Consumer Care, where she conducted primary market research and developed sales improvement strategies. These early experiences helped her build a strong foundation in strategy, marketing, and customer engagement, which continue to inform her leadership style today.
In addition to her corporate roles, Tomar serves on the Board of Governors at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur and as a Strategic Advisor to the Sood Charity Foundation, demonstrating her commitment to education and social impact.
Ashu Tomar holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from the Indian Institute of Management, Indore (2010–2012) and a B.Tech in Computer Science from NIT Surat (2005–2009). Her strong academic grounding in management and technology has complemented her leadership in the financial services sector.
