City of London, England, United Kingdom, September 2025 – Marsh, a business of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC), has announced that Tony Ambrose has joined as Global Chairman and UK CEO Aviation. In this role, Ambrose will lead Marsh’s global aviation practice, overseeing strategic growth, client engagement, and operational excellence across international markets while strengthening the firm’s position as a leader in aviation risk and insurance advisory.
Ambrose has been with Marsh since 2019, beginning as Managing Director Aviation before progressing to Deputy CEO Aviation and later CEO Aviation. Over nearly six years, he has driven Marsh’s aviation practice to new heights, expanding client solutions and reinforcing the firm’s reputation as a trusted advisor in the sector. His appointment as Global Chairman and UK CEO Aviation marks the next chapter in this impactful journey.
Before Marsh, Ambrose spent more than eight years with Swiss Re, where he held a series of senior leadership positions including Head of Aviation, Head of General Aviation International, Head of General Aviation EMEA & APAC, and Head of General Aviation and Aerospace UK. In these roles, he managed complex aviation portfolios, built global client relationships, and steered strategic initiatives across multiple regions.
Earlier, he worked at QBE Insurance as Underwriter for Aerospace Manufacturers, Airports & Service Providers, focusing on large-scale aviation risks. He also spent four years with Willis Limited as Account Executive/Placing Broker, where he developed expertise in global aviation insurance broking and client servicing.
Ambrose began his career in aviation insurance with Equitas as Syndicate Account Manager, later building experience at Ace London Aviation Ltd and the British Aviation Insurance Group. His early grounding in technical underwriting and claims management provided the foundation for a career spanning over three decades in the global aviation sector.
