Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, September 2025 – Liberty General Insurance has appointed Shwetha Ram as its new President – Human Resources, strengthening the organization’s leadership team in India and across the APAC region. In her new role, Shwetha will be a part of both the India Leadership Team and the Liberty International Insurance APAC HR Leadership Team, where she will lead efforts in building future-ready talent pipelines, embedding the ‘One Liberty’ culture, and supporting Liberty’s growth journey in India.
Prior to joining Liberty General Insurance, Shwetha Ram served as Head – Human Resources (Commercial) at Parle Agro Pvt Ltd for nearly 2 years. During this time, she played a significant role in advancing organizational effectiveness, HR transformation, performance management, and talent development.
Before that, she spent close to 6 years at Future Generali India Life Insurance, where she held leadership positions including Head of Human Resources and Vice President – Human Resources. She was pivotal in co-creating a “Great Place to Work” culture, while also driving executive coaching, cultural transformation, and strategic workforce planning.
Previously, she worked with the Kellogg Company as Associate Director – Human Resources, where she led initiatives focused on leadership development, employer branding, HR analytics, and employee benefits design for nearly 4 years.
Earlier in her career, Shwetha had a long tenure of over 8 years at Citibank, where she managed strategic HR functions including compensation and benefits for Citi India and served as the HR Business Partner for the Operations & Technology unit. She began her career at Epicenter Technologies Pvt. Ltd. as a Senior HR Executive, gaining foundational experience in people management and HR operations.
Shwetha holds a Masters in Management Studies (HR) from Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Management Studies & Research, and has recently completed the EY – ISB Executive Programme on Board Effectiveness at the Indian School of Business in August 2025, further enriching her governance and board engagement capabilities.
