Toronto, Ontario, Canada, September 2025 – Gold Candle Ltd. has appointed Jay Henry as Director, People and Public Affairs. In this role, Jay will lead the company’s people strategy and external stakeholder engagement, supporting Gold Candle’s commitment to responsible mineral exploration and sustainable community partnerships.
Jay joins Gold Candle Ltd. after nearly a decade at Alamos Gold Inc., where he most recently served as Director, Human Resources for five years. Based in Toronto, he directed corporate HR functions, talent management, and labor relations for a leading Canadian gold producer. Earlier, he was HR Manager at Alamos Gold’s Island Gold Division in Dubreuilville, Ontario, where he played a critical role in workforce development and employee engagement during a period of operational expansion.
Prior to Alamos, Jay worked with the Aditya Birla Group at AV Terrace Bay as HR Manager, overseeing labor relations and HR processes in the pulp and paper industry. His experience also includes serving as HR Manager at Qulliq Energy Corporation in Nunavut, where he managed human resources in a unique Arctic operating environment.
Jay’s earlier career spanned multiple HR leadership roles, including Human Resources Consultant at Fanshawe College, HR Counselor at Pratt & Whitney Canada, HR Supervisor and Employment & Training Manager at CGC Inc., and HR Coordinator at Canadian General-Tower Ltd. Across these roles, he built deep expertise in workforce development, employee relations, talent strategy, and organizational transformation.
