Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, August 2026 — Emversity has appointed Rajat Gupta as Chief Financial Officer, effective today. He reports to Founder & CEO Vivek Sinha and will lead finance, controllership, treasury, taxation, secretarial and business finance across the group.
Emversity is an employability-led skill training platform working across healthcare, retail and hospitality, and the EPC sector. As an industry-skilling and recruitment partner to employers and universities, it builds hands-on training, including high-fidelity simulation labs, structured internships and industry-defined skills, and embeds them into higher education programmes delivered on partner university and college campuses. In partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC), it also operates standalone skill training centres. Across both models, Emversity runs 50 locations nationally. Programme fees are collected over periods ranging from six months to four years, while the infrastructure required to deliver those programmes is funded ahead of delivery. This combination of physical footprint, multiple entities and long collection cycles places finance at the centre of how the company scales.
Rajat joins from Livspace, where he was Group Finance Head and Financial Controller across India, Singapore, Malaysia and Riyadh, leading controllership, business finance, tax and compliance for the group. Before Livspace, he led finance and supply chain operations at Medlife, running the full finance stack across 13 entities and a 220-person team spanning an online pharmacy marketplace, 45 fulfilment centres, retail stores and diagnostics laboratories.
Earlier, he spent twelve years at Bharti Airtel. As Circle CFO and Head of Supply Chain for Gujarat, he owned the P&L across mobile, fixed line, DTH and payments banks. Earlier roles included Head of FP&A and Business Planning for the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region, National Head of Mobile Revenue Planning, reporting to Airtel’s Chief Marketing Officer, and Head of Group Working Capital, Treasury and Insurance, covering 33 entities across 15 countries.
Vivek Sinha, Founder & CEO, Emversity, said, “We put capital into centres, training equipment, content and people well before the revenue from a cohort arrives, and we collect fees from families and partner universities over several years. A business built that way needs controls and cash discipline from the beginning. Rajat has run finance for distributed operating businesses, through audits, acquisitions and a merger. That is the experience we wanted inside the company at this stage.“
Rajat is a Cost Accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and an All India Rank 10 holder, with postgraduate management qualifications and a certification in IFRS from Grant Thornton.
