Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, October 2025 – The Residency Hotels has announced the appointment of Prakash Jayadevan as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). With over 25 years of leadership experience across India and Nepal, Prakash brings a rich legacy of operational excellence with some of the most prestigious hospitality brands, including Oberoi, Marriott, Sterling Holidays, and The Leela.
At The Residency Hotels, Prakash will oversee the group’s operations across its properties in South India, focusing on driving operational transformation, enhancing guest experiences, and sustaining the brand’s commitment to “Hospitality with Heart.” His extensive expertise in hotel pre-openings, refurbishments, and turnarounds will play a vital role in shaping the next chapter of growth for the group.
Prior to joining The Residency Hotels, Prakash Jayadevan served as General Manager – Asset with Pioneer Holidays Resorts Limited, the owning company of The Leela, where he led strategic negotiations, asset value maximization, and hospitality project management. His insights into financial stewardship and operational synergy contributed significantly to the group’s performance.
Before that, he held leadership roles at Trident Hotels and Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, where he managed landmark properties in Gurugram and Chennai, setting benchmarks in service standards, operational excellence, and guest satisfaction.
Earlier, he served as Vice President – Food and Beverage at Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited, overseeing brand-wide dining innovations and operational efficiencies. He also made his mark at Marriott International, where he managed several key properties, including Courtyard by Marriott Chennai, Courtyard by Marriott Kochi Airport, and Fairfield by Marriott Kathmandu, leading the latter’s launch as Marriott’s first hotel in Nepal.
Prakash began his hospitality journey at The Leela, where his early culinary experience shaped his people-first and detail-oriented leadership approach. Over the years, he transitioned from the kitchens to senior management roles, earning recognition for his balanced focus on revenue growth, guest delight, and team development.
A continuous learner, Prakash recently completed a General Management Certification from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, with a focus on consumer behaviour and food innovation—further strengthening his strategic leadership capabilities.
