Pune, Maharashtra, India, December 2025 — Shyam R S has been appointed as Head HR – Distribution and Aftermarket Business at Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, where he will lead the human resources strategy for the company’s distribution and aftermarket operations, based in Pune.
In his current role, Shyam R S will focus on strengthening people strategy, organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, and workforce engagement across a business vertical that plays a critical role in customer experience and service excellence. His appointment aligns with Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited’s continued emphasis on building a future-ready, high-performance workforce across its integrated distribution network.
Prior to joining Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, Shyam R S spent over six years with Cummins India, where he held multiple HR leadership roles including HRBP Leader – Integrated Supply Chain Management, Plant HRBP Leader, and HRBP Leader for Tata Cummins Pvt. Ltd. and Green Energy Solutions. During this tenure, he led end-to-end HR strategy for a workforce of more than 9,500 employees across 15+ manufacturing locations, driving organizational design, industrial relations, talent management, and leadership development initiatives.
Earlier in his career, he served for nearly sixteen years with the Indian Army as Lieutenant Colonel / Head – People & Culture, leading large teams in complex, high-pressure environments across multiple geographies in India. He also brings academic experience as a Lecturer in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with the University of Madras, reflecting a strong foundation in both technical and people leadership.
Shyam R S holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and is currently pursuing an Executive Certificate Program for Chief Human Resource Officers at Indian Institute of Management Mumbai, along with a Doctorate in Business Management (Human Resource Management) from Rushford Business School.
