Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2026 — Vishal Kumbla has taken on an expanded leadership role as Senior Vice President, Talent Acquisition Lead – India (Retail & Global Private Banking) at HSBC, where he will lead national hiring strategy, leadership acquisition, workforce scaling and campus-to-career pipelines supporting HSBC’s retail and private banking growth agenda.
In his current elevation at HSBC, Vishal Kumbla brings over six years of progressive leadership within the organization. Prior to assuming the SVP mandate, he served as Vice President – Talent Acquisition, Private & Retail Banking, and earlier as Vice President – Strategic Resourcing India & Campus Lead, where he strengthened national hiring governance, leadership pipelines, and large-scale campus hiring frameworks across India.
Before HSBC, Vishal served as Assistant Vice President – Talent Acquisition (Corporate) at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he supported corporate hiring programs and leadership acquisition initiatives.
Earlier, he held senior recruitment leadership roles at Zycus as Head – Recruitment (Global Delivery) and at Standard Chartered Securities as Head – Recruitment, leading enterprise hiring governance, market mapping, vendor ecosystems, and branch banking recruitment across regions.
At the foundation of his career, Vishal developed deep talent acquisition leadership capabilities at Tech Mahindra Business Services, where he managed leadership hiring, volume hiring, referral ecosystems, employer branding, automation initiatives, and large recruitment teams. He began his career at Hutchison 3G (Three UK) as a Team Leader, building frontline workforce operations and people leadership expertise.
