South Africa, February 2026 — Access World has appointed Ryan Sutherland as Chief Operating Officer (COO). In his new role, Sutherland will oversee operational strategy and execution, strengthening Access World’s capability to deliver end-to-end logistics, storage, and supply chain solutions across its global footprint.
Ryan Sutherland’s appointment as Chief Operating Officer marks a significant leadership progression within Access World, where he has built close to a decade of commercial and regional leadership experience across Africa and the Middle East.
Most recently, Sutherland served for about five years as Global Commercial Director at Access World, based in the United Arab Emirates. In this position, he played a key role in driving commercial strategy across global markets, strengthening customer relationships, and contributing to business expansion across the company’s international operations.
Before that, he was responsible for Commercial Sub-Saharan Africa at Access World for over three years, based in South Africa, where he supported regional business growth, market development, and commercial performance across key African trade corridors.
Earlier in his career, he spent about five years at GAC Laser International Logistics, where he served as National Sales and Marketing Executive, building strong expertise in logistics sales leadership and customer-centric supply chain solutions.
With his combination of global commercial exposure and regional operational understanding, Sutherland is well positioned to support Access World’s next phase of operational scale-up and service excellence.
