New Zealand, February 2026 — Sonia Morrison has been appointed as Group Head of People & Culture at The a2 Milk Company, where she will lead the organization’s global people strategy, culture initiatives, and workforce development efforts. In this role, she is responsible for strengthening organizational capability, advancing employee experience, and supporting the company’s continued international growth across its key markets.
Prior to this appointment, Sonia Morrison served as Head of People and Culture – New Zealand at The a2 Milk Company, where she spent nearly three years leading regional people strategy and organizational development. During her tenure, she played a key role in strengthening HR operations, talent capability, and cultural alignment across the New Zealand business, helping build a strong foundation for her transition into the global leadership role.
Before joining The a2 Milk Company, Sonia held senior people leadership roles at Mataura Valley Milk, where she served as Head of People and Culture and earlier as HR & Office Manager. Over approximately four years, she led workforce strategy, employee engagement, and HR transformation initiatives, supporting business growth and operational effectiveness. She also began her journey with the organization as an Executive Assistant, gaining broad operational experience that informed her later leadership responsibilities.
Earlier in her career, Sonia built diverse leadership and operational experience across travel and business services organizations, including roles as Office Manager at Southernwide Building Ltd, Travel Broker at Brooker United Travel, Owner Operator at Laker House of Travel Gore, and Travel Consultant at House of Travel. Across these roles, she developed strong capabilities in people management, customer experience, and operational leadership, which continue to inform her people-first leadership approach.
