Seattle, Washington, United States, February 2026 — Rachel Nielsen has started a new role as Director, HRBP at Uber, where she will support the company’s evolving retail and people strategy. In this position, she brings extensive experience in large-scale HR leadership, organizational transformation, and talent strategy across global organizations.
Before joining Uber, Rachel Nielsen served as Global HR Leader – Advertising at Amazon, where she spent over seven years leading HR strategy for a complex and fast-growing global function. Her work focused on organizational development and scaling people operations to support Amazon’s advertising business.
Prior to Amazon, she built a long and distinguished career at Nordstrom, where she held multiple senior HR leadership roles over nearly fifteen years. As National HR Director – Customer Experience Organization, she partnered with executive leaders to design and execute people strategies for nearly 10,000 employees, strengthening performance management, compensation frameworks, and organizational effectiveness during a period of significant restructuring.
Earlier at Nordstrom, she served as Regional HR Director across both full-price and off-price store divisions, leading large HR teams, supporting new store expansions, and pioneering workforce planning and centralized HR service initiatives. Her early career at the company included progressive roles in HR management and retail leadership, building deep operational and people expertise from the ground up.
