Kolkata, West Bengal, India, March 2026 — India Power Corporation Limited (IPCL) has announced the appointment of Arunendu Basu as Vice President & Head – Human Resources. In this role, he will lead the company’s enterprise-wide people strategy, focusing on strengthening talent capabilities, driving organizational transformation, and enabling business growth through a future-ready workforce.
At India Power Corporation Limited, Basu is steering the complete people and culture agenda across the organization. His mandate includes leading HR strategy, talent acquisition, performance and rewards, leadership development, and culture transformation initiatives. He is also working closely with the Board and senior leadership to align people strategy with business priorities while strengthening digital HR systems and governance frameworks to support organizational scalability and operational excellence.
Prior to joining India Power Corporation Limited, Basu served as Head HR – Projects at Adani Power, where he led HR strategy for large-scale industrial projects. His role involved setting up HR, administration, safety, and security frameworks for new manufacturing operations, designing organization structures, workforce planning, and establishing automated HR systems to manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and lifecycle management of large workforces.
Earlier, he worked with Calderys as Country HR Head – India, where he led enterprise HR strategy aligned with business plans, overseeing talent acquisition, performance management, organization design, talent management, and industrial relations. He also played a key role in strengthening employer branding, leadership development, and HR governance frameworks across manufacturing operations.
Before that, Basu served as Director and Head of HR – India Division at Constantia Flexibles, where he led the HR function for the company’s India operations. He drove organization development initiatives including compensation and benefits, succession planning, career architecture, HR digitization, and employee engagement while aligning HR strategies with the organization’s long-term growth roadmap.
Earlier in his career, Basu held multiple leadership roles with ACC Ltd. (Holcim Group), where he led HR transformation initiatives, industrial relations, and organizational development across plant and project environments. His work included implementing performance management systems, capability development programs, succession planning frameworks, and workforce engagement initiatives across several manufacturing sites.
With over two decades of experience in human resources leadership across power, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors, Arunendu Basu brings deep expertise in HR transformation, industrial relations, talent management, and organizational capability building.
