New Delhi, Delhi, India, March 2026 — Durairaj M has started a new position as Chief Commercial Officer at Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, part of the Dalmia Bharat Group. In this role, he will lead the company’s commercial agenda, strengthening procurement, contract governance, and supply chain efficiency to support business performance and growth priorities.
As Chief Commercial Officer, Durairaj M is expected to bring a strong techno-commercial leadership lens across sourcing strategy, cost governance, contract finalisation, vendor performance, inventory discipline, and commercial transformation initiatives aligned with scale and operational excellence.
Before joining Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, Durairaj M served as Chief Commercial Officer (Aluminium Business) at Vedanta Limited, leading sourcing strategy and contract governance across key commodities and operational requirements spanning large industrial ecosystems, alongside initiatives linked to ESG and digital transformation within commercial functions.
Earlier, he was Chief Commercial Officer at Hindustan Zinc, where he worked on cost-of-production control and cost reduction programs across commodities, services, sustaining capex and inventory, and strengthened procurement governance through rulebooks, contract structures, and performance-linked KPIs. His work also included building commercial centres of excellence and driving process and system improvements to enhance sourcing controls.
Prior to this, he spent significant years with Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL) – Vedanta Limited, serving as Chief Commercial Officer and earlier as Associate General Manager, with responsibilities spanning coal planning and procurement, service contract finalisation, spares and services sourcing, ash sales and utilisation, and broader commercial governance aligned with plant performance and compliance requirements.
Across earlier chapters of his career, Durairaj M also held group-level responsibilities at Vedanta Resources Limited in power O&M commercial contracting, and earlier worked with Hindustan Zinc in operations and projects roles supporting captive power plants and switchyard systems, strengthening foundations across execution, engineering support, and contract management.
