Kolkata, West Bengal, India, May 2024 – RailTel Corporation of India Ltd is delighted to announce the promotion of Abhishek Kumar Sahay to the position of Assistant General Manager. In his 11 years and 6 months with RailTel, Abhishek has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to driving the company’s human resources and administrative functions.
Abhishek Kumar Sahay has had a significant impact on RailTel Corporation of India Ltd throughout his tenure. Recently, he served as the Chief Manager Human Resources from January 2024 to May 2024, overseeing the complete Human Resources and Personnel and Administration for the Eastern Region, which includes Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Assam, and all North-East States for over 500 employees.
His responsibilities encompassed manpower planning and budgeting, recruitment, confirmation, promotion, and related activities, statutory compliances, employee engagement, grievance management, capability building, payroll management, and administration and office management. He played a crucial role in change management and various other miscellaneous responsibilities, such as acting as the Rajabhasha Officer, Public Relations Officer, Coordinator of the POSCH committee, and Head of the People Risk Committee.
Prior to this role, Abhishek was the Senior Manager HR (P&A) from June 2019 to December 2023. In this capacity, he was responsible for overseeing HR functions, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and enhancing employee relations and engagement. From April 2016 to June 2019, he served as the Manager – Human Resource (P&A), where he managed HR activities and contributed to the development and implementation of HR strategies. He began his journey at RailTel as the Deputy Manager – Human Resource (P&A) from December 2012 to April 2016, where he focused on process improvements and employee development.
Before joining RailTel, Abhishek worked at Punj Lloyd Limited as a Senior Executive – HR from June 2011 to December 2012. In this role, he managed the complete HR function of the Plant & Equipment division, which included employee lifecycle management, campus recruitment, compensation and benefits, performance management, training and development, recruitment of workers and operators for onsite projects, statutory compliance, and administration.
