Reflections on 2024:

When I look back at 2024, it was an extremely hectic year full of learning and insightful happennings. This became all the more fast paced towards the end with ever evolving business landscape.

The business landscape is changing at a rapid pace, and there is much to be done. The expectations from HR are no longer the same—whether it’s in terms of people, emerging technology, growth, or long-term vision.

“The business landscape is changing at a rapid pace, and the expectations from HR are no longer the same.”

Salil Lal, Chief Human Resources Officer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited

Resolutions for 2025:

In 2025, I aim to renew focus on the well-being of our people, place greater emphasis on diversity, and prepare for the next 7-8 years with a strong emphasis on skilling manpower and creating a robust structure to support these changes.

Top Three Priorities:

  • Health & Wellness: Build initiatives to enhance physical and mental well-being.
  • Safety: Ensure safety remains a core pillar of workplace culture.
  • Continuous Learning: Focus on skilling and reskilling to prepare for future challenges.
  • Create the Right Culture: Foster an environment that drives growth, inclusion, and innovation.

“2025 will focus on health, safety, continuous learning, and creating the right culture for sustainable growth.”

Salil Lal, Chief Human Resources Officer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited

Salil Lal’s reflections on 2024 highlight the increasing demands on HR to adapt to rapidly changing business landscapes and evolving workforce needs. His 2025 resolutions emphasize the importance of prioritizing people through well-being, safety, and continuous learning, while creating a culture that supports long-term growth. With a renewed focus on diversity and future-readiness, Salil’s vision sets the stage for HR’s transformative role in shaping organizational success in the coming years.
