London, England, United Kingdom, August 2025 – Alastair Cockrem has been appointed as Head of People Operations, Tooling, and Reporting at Skyscanner. In this newly elevated role, he provides strategic leadership for Skyscanner’s global People Operations, Tooling, and Reporting teams, ensuring streamlined operations, optimised tooling solutions, and high-quality insights that empower the People Team and enhance employee experiences.
Cockrem has been with Skyscanner for over four years. Most recently, he served as People Strategy Lead, where he was responsible for leading HR strategy and strategic projects, ensuring the company continues to be a place where people passionate about travel can grow their careers and deliver their best work.
Prior to that, he held the role of Head of Executive Search at Skyscanner, where he led hiring for Director, VP, and CxO-level positions across the company’s global offices, further strengthening leadership capability during a period of international expansion.
Cockrem initially joined Skyscanner as Senior Talent Acquisition Executive, Leadership Hiring, contributing to leadership recruitment strategy and executive-level searches. Before his tenure at Skyscanner, he worked at Carbon Search, an executive search firm, first as an Associate and then as a Senior Associate, partnering with FTSE companies and growth businesses to place impactful leaders.
His career reflects a steady progression in HR strategy, leadership recruitment, and people operations, underpinned by strong skills in stakeholder management, team leadership, and organisational development.
