With over 30 years of experience, including 18 years at Mandarin Oriental, Hyndman has held pivotal roles across the globe, from General Manager positions in Bangkok and Washington, D.C., to her recent role as Chief People & Culture Officer. Prior to her promotion, Amanda served as Chief People & Culture Officer at Mandarin Oriental, where she led initiatives to strengthen the company’s organizational culture and talent strategy, significantly impacting employee engagement and operational harmony. Before this, she was Area Vice President for Hong Kong, Macau, Guangzhou, and Sanya, steering operations across the region’s top hotels and building sustainable, guest-centric experiences.
Amanda also served as Area Vice President for London, Munich, and Prague, leading luxury properties in these prominent locations with a focus on elevating brand standards and enhancing guest experiences. Her earlier career includes notable tenure as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental’s flagship properties in Bangkok and Washington, D.C., where she achieved exceptional performance metrics in customer satisfaction and service excellence.
Amanda’s career spans beyond Mandarin Oriental, with foundational roles in leadership at Waldorf Hilton and Le Meridien, followed by her time as General Manager for Millennium & Copthorne Hotels across several UK locations. Her broad international experience and passion for the hospitality industry underscore her contributions to Mandarin Oriental’s success.
