Hyderabad, Telangana, India, January 2026 — Narayan Choudhary has been appointed as Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Amara Raja Energy & Mobility, part of the Amara Raja Group. In his new role, he will lead the company’s manufacturing and operational strategy, driving excellence, efficiency, and future-focused transformation across all business verticals.
As COO, Narayan Choudhary will play a central role in advancing Amara Raja Energy & Mobility’s Factories of the Future initiative, aimed at building highly automated, digitally enabled, and globally benchmarked manufacturing systems. His mandate includes strengthening operational resilience, scaling advanced manufacturing capabilities, and supporting the group’s long-term energy and mobility ambitions.
With close to three decades of leadership experience across the automotive and industrial sectors, Narayan Choudhary brings a proven track record in large-scale transformation, greenfield project execution, technology localization, and operational turnaround.
Prior to joining Amara Raja Energy & Mobility, he served as Chief Executive Officer / Business Head at Taco Punch Powertrain Pvt. Ltd., a Tata enterprise and joint venture between TACO and Punch Powertrain, Belgium. In this role, he led end-to-end business operations, including R&D and manufacturing, and played a pioneering role in establishing dual-clutch transmission (DCT) manufacturing in India through greenfield project execution, technology transfer, and supplier localization.
Earlier, Narayan Choudhary was Executive Director & Vice President – India Operations at Autoliv, where he led overall India business operations, financial performance, and manufacturing excellence across automotive safety products such as airbags, seat belts, and steering wheels. His tenure included the execution of large-scale greenfield and brownfield manufacturing facilities and the introduction of new products and technologies that strengthened Autoliv’s footprint in India.
He previously served as Plant Director & Head of Operations at Plastic Omnium, where he orchestrated a strategic turnaround of the India business, stabilizing operations and driving sustainable growth through structured problem-solving, capability building, and disciplined execution. His earlier career includes senior leadership roles at TATA AutoComp Systems Ltd., where he managed pan-India operations for engine cooling systems, and at Honeywell, where he led manufacturing for a world-class turbocharger plant, executing a greenfield project and scaling operations to meet global customer requirements.
