Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, March 2025 — Amrendra Singh has joined SBI Capital Markets as Group Head – Equity Capital Markets, bringing nearly two decades of experience across the State Bank of India Group. Known for his strategic insights in banking innovation, financial risk management, and capital markets, Amrendra is set to lead SBI Capital Markets’ equity capital initiatives and drive its next phase of growth.
Before joining SBI Capital Markets, Amrendra served as Deputy General Manager at State Bank of India, where he played a crucial role in asset-liability management with a focus on liquidity and interest rate risks. He also held responsibilities as Regional Head, overseeing a cluster of 40 branches, and served as Chief Risk Officer at SBI-SG, implementing corporate governance best practices and strengthening the bank’s risk architecture.
Throughout his tenure at SBI, which spanned nearly 25 years, Amrendra took on key assignments in regulatory compliance, securities markets, budgeting, and financial risk mitigation. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM), his well-rounded expertise spans capital markets, anti-money laundering, and risk governance, making him a key leader in the banking and financial services sector.
In his new role at SBI Capital Markets, Amrendra will lead equity capital market strategies and public issue mandates, overseeing high-profile clients such as Tata Capital, Hero FinCorp, National Securities Depository Ltd., JSW Cement, and Schloss Bangalore. His leadership is expected to bolster SBICAPS’ market presence and enhance its reputation as a trusted investment banking partner.
