Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 2024 – Anand Tripathi has joined Aditya Birla Group (Century Textiles and Industries Limited) as the new Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, Anand will be responsible for driving the HR strategies and initiatives for Century Textiles and Industries Limited, part of the Aditya Birla Group.

Before this role, Anand served as President HR at Aditya Birla Group (Ultratech Cement) from July 2021 to June 2024 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He was instrumental in strategic HR planning and implementing HR frameworks that enhanced organizational capability.

Prior to Ultratech Cement, Anand was the General Manager HR – ER for South Asia at Hindustan Unilever Limited from September 2017 to July 2021. As a member of both the South Asia HR Leadership Team and South Asia Supply Chain Leadership Team, he was adept in strategic employee relations, international IR, HR frameworks, and change management across multiple countries.

From May 2016 to September 2017, Anand worked as Head HR – SCM at UPL in Mumbai, focusing on designing organizational structures, HR processes, policies, and systems. He also developed talent management strategies and capability frameworks.

Anand’s earlier experience includes a long tenure at Hindustan Unilever Ltd., where he held various HR roles from October 2006 to May 2016. Notably, he was the Category HR Manager – Personal Care, overseeing HR/ER for 16 manufacturing sites and 35 distribution centers across South Asia. He also served as the Category HR Manager – F & B and HR Manager in Haridwar.

Anand began his career as a Sr. HR Officer at Goodlass Nerolac Paints Ltd. (now Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd.) from 1995 to 1997.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
