San Francisco, CA, United States, November 2024 – Andrew Cheung has stepped into his new role as Vice President, Machine Learning and Engineering at Salesforce, bringing an impressive track record of innovation and leadership in artificial intelligence and machine learning. In this elevated capacity, Andrew will spearhead initiatives to enhance Salesforce’s AI capabilities, focusing on cutting-edge machine learning strategies and generative AI solutions.
Andrew’s journey at Salesforce, spanning over 11 years, has been marked by transformative contributions. Most recently, as Global Head of AI & Generative Systems, he led teams of Applied Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and Software Engineers to build the Salesforce Generative AI Platform, including capabilities like Einstein GPT Foundations Gateway and the Trust Layer. His leadership has been pivotal in creating personalized generative experiences across Salesforce’s CRM ecosystem.
Prior to this, Andrew served as Director, Data Science & Machine Learning Strategy, where he pioneered AI models and services enabling conversational intelligence and automation. As Senior Director, AI & Intelligent Automation Engineering, he further established Salesforce’s AI-driven approach, focusing on automation, optimization, and insights for business users and supervisors.
Andrew’s career before Salesforce includes impactful roles at GE Digital and GE Current, where he built machine learning teams from the ground up and drove innovation in AI applications across industries such as aviation, healthcare, and energy.
