Anil Upadhyay Appointed as Group Head Human Resources at MRL Tyres Limited

Gurugram, Haryana, India, May 2025 – Anil Upadhyay has taken on the role of Group Head Human Resources at MRL Tyres Limited, where he will lead the company’s human resources strategy, policies, and processes to ensure optimum utilization of talent and alignment with organizational goals. His responsibilities include overseeing talent management, recruitment, induction, performance management systems, learning and development, proactive employee relations, union negotiations, legal compliance, and long-term settlements where necessary.

Prior to joining MRL Tyres Limited, Anil served for around eight years as President – Human Resources at VRS Foods Limited, where he was responsible for formulating HR policies and strategies, aligning processes for effective talent utilization, and managing legal and compliance functions. His role spanned recruitment, talent management, learning and development, employee relations, and negotiations with unions to ensure smooth industrial harmony.

Before that, he was President (HR & IR) at RSPL Group for nearly four years, where he oversaw HR and industrial relations, implemented performance management systems, developed leadership programs, and managed strategic union negotiations and compliance frameworks.

Earlier in his career, Anil spent about one year and four months as Associate Vice President (HR) at Emami Paper Mills Ltd, where he handled estate management strategies, employee relations, and performance management.

His longest tenure was over 14 years at Birla Tyre Ltd, where as Senior General Manager (P&A) he was instrumental in building the organizational structure, managing complex industrial matters including litigation at high courts and the Supreme Court, and liaising with government bodies such as the factory directorate and pollution control board.

Anil also gained early career experience in HR roles at Shriram Honda Ltd, Hero Motors, and Hindustan General Industries Ltd, handling labor welfare, HR operations, and industrial relations.
