Sydney, NSW, Australia, December 2025 — Anup Changavalli has officially assumed the role of Head of Human Resources for Alcon ANZ, relocating to Sydney to lead HR strategy and talent operations across Australia and New Zealand. This move marks a significant milestone in his 7‑plus year journey with Alcon, as he takes charge of shaping culture, enabling talent development, and mentoring HR teams across the region.
Before this appointment, Changavalli served as Head of Human Resources for Taiwan & Hong Kong (Nov 2024 – Dec 2025), where he drove HR strategy for a key regional business cluster, gaining valuable cross‑cultural and international HR leadership experience. Prior to that, he held senior HR business partner and leadership roles within Alcon’s global services and regional operations — including HR Head at Alcon Global Services Bangalore, and Senior HR Business Partner for Alcon India’s sales and marketing teams — building a foundation in organizational development, talent management, change management, and culture building.
Earlier phases of his career include HR responsibilities at companies such as Medtronic (in Australia and India), Mylan Laboratories, and Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he handled staffing, employee relations, R&D‑HR partnering, and foundational HR operations. This diverse background across geographies, functions, and organizational contexts positions him well to lead a complex, multicultural workforce in ANZ.
In his new role as Head of HR for Alcon ANZ, Changavalli is expected to partner closely with business leaders to co-create people‑centric and scalable HR solutions — supporting “seeing brilliantly” through both product innovation and human capital excellence. His global experience, cross‑cultural insight, and commitment to organizational development signal a strong leadership era for Alcon’s ANZ operations.
