New York, United States, November 2025 — Aparna N. has been elevated to Chief Talent, Leadership & Culture Officer at IBM, marking a significant advancement in her distinguished 22-year journey with the global technology leader. In her expanded mandate, she will shape enterprise-wide talent, leadership, and culture strategy to strengthen IBM’s people architecture and accelerate business transformation across global markets.
In her most recent role as Vice President HR, IBM Talent Management, Aparna led global talent initiatives, developing future-focused strategies for leadership capability, skills growth, employee experience, and performance excellence. Her role strengthened IBM’s enterprise talent ecosystem and set the foundation for her transition to the senior-most leadership position in talent and culture.
Before this, she served as Vice President HR, Offerings and Growth, IBM Consulting, where she drove the people strategy for IBM’s $20B+ consulting business, covering service lines, industries, sales, ecosystems, and client expansion. She also led all HR aspects of acquisition integrations, ensuring seamless people transitions and cultural alignment to support sustained business growth.
Earlier, Aparna held the role of Director, Talent Strategy & Solutions, IBM Consulting, overseeing talent and career strategy for 150,000+ employees globally. Over nearly four years, she partnered with the senior leadership team to advance workforce skills, deepen leadership pipelines, enhance diversity & inclusion, and build a global culture of performance, mobility, and career inspiration.
She previously served as Senior Manager – HR (Global Mobility) and Global HR Leader, IBM Systems, where she led high-performing teams across geographies and shaped HR strategies for major business units including IBM Power and OpenPower Systems. Her work spanned international mobility, talent architecture, compensation governance, and cultural transformation.
Aparna’s early leadership roles at IBM included Global Compensation Program Manager, Compensation Partner (APAC), and GBS HR Strategy & Senior HR Partner, followed by foundational experience in GBS Talent Acquisition—building IBM’s employer brand and talent pipeline across India and global markets. Her academic credentials include executive education from Harvard Business School, a Masters in HR Management from Cornell University ILR School, and an MBA in Human Resources from the National Institute of Management, Kolkata.
