Johannesburg, South Africa, March 2026 – Apramey Saxena has started a new position as Chief Marketing Officer at Vedanta Zinc International, strengthening the commercial leadership of the global zinc business.
In his new mandate, Apramey will lead the marketing strategy across Vedanta Zinc International’s portfolio of zinc assets in South Africa, Namibia, and Ireland. His role is expected to drive global sales strategy, market expansion, portfolio optimization, and value realization across international markets.
Prior to this appointment, Apramey served as Vertical Head – Management Assurance Services at Vedanta Group, where he held a general management leadership role within the Group Assurance function. He led Sales & Marketing Assurance as well as Ethics & Governance initiatives across the Group, contributing to strengthened controls, governance alignment, and commercial oversight.
Earlier, he was Chief Marketing Officer at Vedanta | Sesa Goa Iron Ore, where he handled sales and marketing operations for pig iron across Indian and international markets. He also served as Key Accounts Head – West at Vedanta Resources Limited.
Apramey built extensive commercial expertise during his long tenure at Hindustan Zinc, where he held multiple progressive roles including Head – International Marketing, Interim Head – Domestic Marketing, Regional Manager (West), and leadership positions in Lead, Silver, and Cadmium marketing. Over the years, he managed multi-hundred-million-dollar annual portfolios, strengthened market share, negotiated complex industrial contracts, and led strategic market development initiatives across domestic and international markets.
He holds an MBA in Marketing from Nirma University, Ahmedabad.
