Dominic Lai, Group Managing Director of AS Watson Group, praised Au’s proven leadership and her pivotal role in FORTRESS’s digital transformation, which effectively merged offline and online (O+O) platforms. “Clarice has served airport retail and FORTRESS for 26 years, demonstrating significant leadership in driving business growth,” Lai noted. He expressed confidence in Au’s ability to apply her vast experience towards enhancing MoneyBack’s growth and success.

Clarice Au’s journey with AS Watson Group began in 1998, leading to her promotion to General Manager – Operations and Business Development of FORTRESS in 2013. By 2018, she ascended to the role of Managing Director, showcasing her exceptional ability in innovation and talent development.

Lai highlighted MoneyBack’s impressive reach since its inception in 2007, engaging over 63% of Hong Kong’s adult population as members. “It has effectively reached every household in Hong Kong and has become an indispensable part of their daily lives,” Lai added, underscoring the program’s vast influence and integration into the community.

Au shared her enthusiasm for leading MoneyBack, emphasizing its unique position as Asia’s pioneering region-wide loyalty program. She detailed MoneyBack’s extensive network, which spans over 8,000 O+O retail outlets across various sectors, facilitated by AS Watson’s diverse retail brands in multiple markets, including Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Southeast Asia. “With a commitment to continuously enhance the members’ experience, we aim to remain the top choice for customers in Hong Kong,” Au stated, reflecting on her vision to deepen customer relationships and deliver unparalleled rewards and experiences.

The strategic leadership transition is scheduled for April 2024, marking a significant step forward for MoneyBack under Clarice Au’s guidance. With Au at the helm, AS Watson Group anticipates a future of enhanced customer loyalty, innovative rewards, and strengthened market leadership for MoneyBack.
