India, January 2026 — Ashish Chopade has started a new position as Head – Strategic Sourcing at Adani Defence and Aerospace, strengthening the organisation’s leadership as it continues to scale its defence and aerospace manufacturing capabilities.
In his new role, Ashish Chopade is responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier discovery, and procurement excellence across multiple capabilities. His mandate includes strengthening supply chain resilience, enabling cost efficiencies, and supporting the company’s long-term growth objectives in alignment with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
Prior to joining Adani Defence and Aerospace, Ashish Chopade served as General Manager at Motherson Group, where he was responsible for sourcing solutions, supplier discovery across diverse capabilities, and procure-to-pay transformation initiatives. His work contributed to EBITDA improvement and enhanced supplier ecosystems.
Before this, he spent nearly 17 years with Hero MotoCorp Ltd, holding progressive leadership roles including Deputy General Manager, Section Head – Strategic Sourcing, Assistant General Manager, and Senior Manager. During his tenure, he led strategic sourcing initiatives, managed indirect procurement categories such as packaging, and headed supply chain functions for critical components, gaining deep expertise in large-scale manufacturing supply chains.
Earlier in his career, Ashish Chopade began his professional journey as a Junior Engineer at Maverick Technical Consultancy, where he was involved in engineering and business development activities, building a strong technical and commercial foundation.
