Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, September 2025 — SBI Card and Payment Services has announced the appointment of Avinash Agrawal as its new Executive Vice President & Chief People Officer (CPO). His appointment follows the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and has been confirmed in the company’s official exchange filing.
Agrawal brings with him over three decades of experience in the banking sector, having built a distinguished career at State Bank of India (SBI). In his most recent role, he served as Deputy General Manager at SBI, where he played a key part in shaping organizational effectiveness and talent strategies.
Over the years at SBI, he held several pivotal leadership positions, including Deputy General Manager – Business Solutions at the Corporate Centre in Mumbai and Deputy General Manager – IT at GITC Belapur. His career spans diverse domains such as human resources, retail banking, digital banking, branch operations, and information technology, showcasing his versatility as a leader.
With advanced qualifications in Economics, Finance, and CAIIB, Agrawal is well-positioned to lead SBI Card’s people agenda by strengthening its focus on talent management, leadership development, and organizational excellence in India’s rapidly evolving digital payments and financial services landscape.
