With over 14 years of experience at GAIL across diverse functional roles, Azhar brings deep expertise in natural gas marketing, corporate affairs, business development, and retail LNG operations.
In his previous role as Senior Manager (Marketing-NG), Azhar was based in Kolkata, where he contributed to GAIL’s strategic natural gas marketing initiatives in the region. Prior to that, he served as Senior Manager (Mktg-Retail LNG) in Delhi, playing a crucial role in driving the company’s retail expansion in the LNG segment. His stint as Senior Manager (Corporate Affairs) and Senior Manager (Business Development) further strengthened his command over regulatory frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and growth strategies in India’s evolving energy sector.
Azhar’s appointment underlines GAIL’s focus on advancing its leadership in the natural gas space and reinforces its mission of delivering energy solutions with sustainability and scale. His leadership is expected to bring fresh momentum to GAIL’s marketing operations as the company continues to expand its influence across the natural gas value chain.
