Montreal, Quebec – Laurentian Bank has appointed Benoit Bertrand as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Bertrand, who brings to the table an impressive track record spanning over 27 years in the technology and digital innovations sectors, will play a pivotal role in steering the bank’s technological advancements and digital strategy.
Prior to joining Laurentian Bank, Bertrand held significant positions at Saputo Inc., where he served as Global Vice-President, Digital & Innovations and Canada Regional CIO, contributing his expertise for over 8 years. His portfolio included enterprise development, digital commerce, product, web & social media, workplace, and IoT, showcasing his comprehensive skill set in the digital domain.
Bertrand’s career also includes a tenure at Avanade, where he spent over 10 years in various leadership roles, including Vice-President, Canada Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Eastern Canada General Manager. His responsibilities encompassed increasing Avanade Canada’s market share, driving go-to-market offerings, and fostering strategic partnerships, underlining his capability in leveraging technology to drive business growth.
His earlier experiences include roles at Accenture, where he engaged in projects that spanned financial business rule systems, management reporting and budgeting solutions, and energy trading systems, further solidifying his expertise in technology and project management.
